Men's Fashion History - The Origin of the T shirts

T-shirt is button-less shirt, in T shape form, mostly with round collar neckline. The T-shirts are made from cotton fiber, giving it a soft texture. 

Earlier T-shirts were used as the undergarment, during late 19th century T-shirts with button and button-less were adopted by the miners, as it was comfortable to work with it in hot temperature. T-shirts become popular, when they were issues to the US Navy. It was white in color made from cotton with short sleeves and crew necked.

Soon it became popular among various industrial workers and they began to use it as the bottom layer of the clothing. The T-shirts was comfortable, easily cleaned, looks trendy and it was inexpensive, thus became popular among the youngsters too. Finally it achieved the status of fashionable in the year 1950, when Marlon Brando wore it on “a streetcar named desire".

Nowadays, T-shirts are most popular among youth. There are variety of T-shirts, people are coming up with the ideas and designs to make it look cool and unique in their own ways. The most common way of decorating the T-shirt is by screen painting.

Since 1980s, people have started putting their views on the T-shirts. Slowly it has become the way of expressing their views and the way of communication. The screen printed T-shirts become the best way of marketing. The companies come up with their company logos and with the message or a slogan for their cause.

During the 21st century, wearing T-shirts become the trend. Everyone was using their creativity, to create the unique and Cool T-shirts. The large sized printed T-shirts with ironic or humorous slogans become popular. They use T-shirts to strongly put their views whether it be, a politics, religion or sports. 

Now T-shirts have become an integral part of our daily dress up. Its comfort ability and trendy looks make it popular among youngsters. T-shirts can use at any occasion and any time. It is comfortable, versatile and inexpensive.
